Both of our featured jobs are with a fantastic company based in Hull, who work on educational, commercial and retail construction projects. The company dates back to 1876 and has been recognised in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For (2018).

Construction Manager

As the Construction Manager you will be an integral part of the project team and be responsible for the successful delivery of all given projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the site managers and site staff to ensure the safe delivery of the projects
  • Attend safety committee meetings as required
  • Work closely with the internal team and site staff to maintain a clean, tidy and efficient site
  • Enable the delivery of a safe site and take part and facilitate any necessary health and safety training
  • Influence and support team members to innovate and achieve optimum solutions
  • Ensure there is adequate supply chain resource in place on any given project to ensure the project is delivered on time, meeting the client’s expectations
  • Undertake weekly site reports
  • Monitor construction works (including sub-contractors) for compliance against controlled measures identified in risk assessments
  • Attend and lead site report meetings
  • Be responsible for the environmental performance of any projects that would be under your direction

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Hold a full UK driving licence
  • Qualified at HNC level or above and hold a valid 5-day CITB SMSTS certificate
  • Have a proven track record of successfully controlling and managing large scale construction projects including the management of subcontractors
  • Excellent levels of computer literacy, and be fluent in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to liaise with senior clients & subcontractors
  • A working knowledge of current Health and Safety practice
  • Possess good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a variety of tasks

Desirable

  • Previous knowledge working with public sector clients
  • Hold or be working towards a professional qualification relevant to the role
  • Previous experience and/or training on BIM (Building Information Modelling)

Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm (40 hours per week)

Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 plus bonus. Salary dependent on experience, plus bonus opportunity of 0 - 20% of annual salary based on individual/company performance.

Project Manager

The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of all given projects and would be the first point of contact for all client liaison. The successful candidate will have experience leading projects and be able to create a positive and energetic atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Work closely with clients, subcontractors and design teams
  • Establish and maintain a two way, honest and open communication with clients
  • Work closely with the internal team and site staff to maintain a clean, tidy and efficient site
  • Enable the delivery of a safe site and take part and facilitate any necessary health and safety training
  • Influence and support team members to innovate and achieve optimum solutions
  • Identify clients and understand their needs
  • Seek to establish professional trust and mutual respect and endeavour to maintain relationships into the future
  • Attend and lead site report meetings
  • Be responsible for the environmental performance of any projects that would be under your direction
